Debra Ann “Debbie” Averitt Holley, 57, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Debbie will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Steven Barnes, Shane Hutchinson, P. J. Lewis, Pete Gertos, Lev Holley and Glenn Holley will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 2, 1961 in Tift County, Debbie was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Averitt and LaVerne Purvis Averitt. Before retiring, she was the manager at Jo Jo’s Restaurant. She was a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church and loved gospel music. She had a great sense of humor.
Debbie is survived by one son, Wesley Holley of Fitzgerald; two step-sons, Johnny Holley and Lev Holley; one brother, James “Jimmy” Griffin, Jr. of Tifton; two nieces, Angie Griffin and Jaime Griffin, both of Tifton; and three great-nieces, Gracie Westbrook, Ava Hill and Peyton Rick, all of Tifton.
