Obituary

WORCESTER: Eleanor Helen (Steinhilber) Cross, 91, died Tuesday, January 8 in Overlook Masonic Home after an illness.
Her husband Stanley R. "Bud" Cross, Jr. died in 2009, they were married on April 9, 1950. She leaves three daughters; Sandra E. Wondolowski and her husband David of Worcester, Linda E. Baker and her husband Lee of Spencer and Laura E. Kimball and her husband Brian of Shrewsbury, seven grandchildren; Lucian, Katie, Lisa, Charlie, Matthew, Jonathan and Amanda, three great grandchildren; Logan, Landon & Benni, a daughter-in-law Diane Cross of Leominster, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Stanley R. "Skip" Cross and a brother Richard Steinhilber.
Eleanor was born in Worcester, daughter of Alfred and Olga Ruth (Bettcher) Steinhilber. She was a quality control inspector at her families business Mayfield Plastics in Worcester retiring in 1980. She was a life long member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Worcester Kiwanis Club, the New England Lilly Society, the Nerieds swimming group and the Worcester Historical Society. She was an accomplished artist and especially liked to work with water colors. She enjoyed all forms of artwork, cake decorating, world traveling with her husband especially taking cruises and sailing on the family sailboat the Pandora.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 12 at 10:00 AM in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:00-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church, 86 Murray Avenue, Worcester, MA 01610.
