Obituary

Gerald "Marty" McClain, 64, of Ventura, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his home.
Marty was born on February 11, 1954 in Ventura and was a Ventura County resident for most of his life.
He was a graduate of San Francisco State University, where he majored in art and minored in science. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Marty was a park ranger in the Santa Cruz Area for 12 years. He enjoyed surfing and photography, as well as traveling and river rafting in Russia. Fueled by his passion for the past, Marty was a historian in his own right. He was a 10 year member of the Southern California Civil War Re-enactment Richmond Howitzers where he acted as a Corporal in the Confederate Army. He also appeared as a background performer in many movies and his last appearance was in Hickok.
Marty is survived by his beloved wife, partner, and friend, Dennise Burchette McClain.
A Celebration of Marty's Life will be at 2:00pm on Monday, January 21, 2019 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 East Main Street, Ventura.
