PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - Donna Marie (Horton) Large, age 63, a former Tewksbury and Pelham resident, died unexpectedly Friday morning, January 4, at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce, following years battling Diabetes. Beginning as the high school sweetheart, and for the last fifty years of her life, she was the best friend of Gary J. Large, with whom she had celebrated a forty-sixth wedding anniversary last September 9.
Donna was born in Winchester in March, 1955, one of three children of the late Charles and Rose (Bradley) Horton, and attended Tewksbury schools. She began her career in the missile assembly division of Raytheon’s South Lowell plant, but retired early due to Diabetes issues. She and Gary lived in Pelham, NH, for twenty years before moving “South” to Port St. Lucie in 2004.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Gary W. Large, of Boston’s North End; a daughter, Kimberly M. Large of Port St. Lucie; a sister, Charlean Horton of Dracut; several nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her brother Charles “Chucky” Horton.
Visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 10 from 4 :00 to 7:00 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
