June Vivian Ashe, 89, died peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Brandon Woods Nursing Home in Dartmouth, MA.
Born on June 8,1929 in New Bedford, daughter of the late Augustine A. and Marie A. (Bertrand) Ashe, She resided in Dartmouth with John and Deborah DeBortoli and was formerly from New Bedford.
As a young woman she graduated from Kinyon School of Business in New Bedford. Then continued her career at Moorse Twist Drill as a secretary. She was proud of her accomplishments and selflessly sacrificed her career to care for her ailing parents and sister for many years.
She was an devoted parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church in New Bedford.
June was a kind, sweet woman. She treasured vacationing with her family in Florida and frequently reminisced of summer outings at her Uncle’s cottage with her cousins in Rhode Island.
June shared countless years with our family and formed innumerous memories. Although her body was not strong, her mind was intact. She always laughed at a good joke, loved listening to WBSM radio talk show, music and sitting by the pool. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays. She especially loved bread stuffing, home made apple pie, barbecues, maple walnut ice cream, family gatherings and adored the family dogs Daisy, Louie, Max and Stella.
A special Thank You and our deepest gratitude to the Brandonwood’s staff of Dartmouth,MA and New England Hospice that sincerely showed their loving care for June during her numerous bouts of illness.
She leaves behind her cousin, Phyllis Amiot Durham, CT. and extended members John, Deborah, Seth and Ross DeBortoli from Dartmouth, MA; Jarhn Blutstein and her husband Jeremy of East Hampton, NY; Adria Bolarinho and her husband TJ, from Fairhaven,MA.
She was the sister of the late Rose-Marie Ashe and extended family of the late Andre M. Veatch.
