Richard Earl "Dick" Gooding, Sr. 84, of Anderson, died at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born October 28, 1934 in Anderson, the son of Earl and Ada B. (Eustler) Gooding. Dick was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Anderson High School. He owned and operated Gooding Masonry 37 years before retiring in 1997.
He was a member of New Life Nazarene Church.
Dick enjoyed camping, traveling, especially cruises and spending time with his family.
Dick is survived by his three children, Roger (Elizabeth Ellebracht) Gooding and Rick Gooding all of Anderson and Becky (Walter Morrill) Gooding of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren, Taylor (Courtney) Cole of Lapel, Megan (Ben) Bell of Muncie; Brynn Gooding of Fishers, Laurynn Gooding of Anderson; Jordan Gooding of Anderson and Toni Morrill of Bradenton, FL; two great grandchildren, Sabrina Morrill and Cayson Cole and several nieces and nephews and his beloved boxer "Cora".
Dick was preceded in death his parents, his wife Betty J. Gooding in 2015, daughter Kathryn D. Coffman; sisters, Patricia Spangler and Sally Dunn and brother, Don Gooding.
Service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jack Duckworth officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
