Mary B. (Kennedy) Castellina, 90, of New Bedford died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Royal Taber Street Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Annie (Schelter) Kennedy, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. James Church and a member of both St. James Seniors and Mount Carmel Seniors. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. James Church and St. Luke's Hospital and was a volunteer at the Solanus Casey food pantry.
Mary was formerly employed as a secretary by several local companies including Berkshire Hathaway, Morse Cutting Tools, Fort Rodman Job Corps, and N.C. Hudon.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Royal Taber Street Nursing Home for the excellent care that she received while she was a resident there.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Rysz and her husband Stanley of New Bedford; a son, Stephen Castellina and his wife Sharon of Berkley; four grandchildren, Katie Byrne, Kara-Lynne Rysz, Nicholas Castellina and Martha Davison; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ashlynne, Adrien, Alice, and Margot.
She was the sister of the late Eileen Kennedy and Gertrude Crabtree.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday January 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with visitation to be held from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the Service.
