TEWKSBURY: George Sinclair, age 91, a resident of Tewksbury for 34 years, died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the husband of Helen (Lent) Sinclair, who died December 22, 1994.
Born in Scotland on August 5, 1914, he was the son of the late James and Helen (MacLellan) Sinclair.
At the age of six, he emigrated to Malden, MA. He was raised in Malden and attended Malden schools.
In his earlier years, Mr. Sinclair served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury, where he served as deacon and head usher.
Mr. Sinclair was a former resident of Tewksbury’s Delaney Drive Housing Community.
Prior to his retirement in 1976, he was employed as a maintenance mechanic by the Warren Pipe Company of Everett for over 20 years. In addition, he previously worked at the former Wamesit Convenient Mart of Tewksbury.
He enjoyed attending church functions and deep sea fishing with his family.
Mr. Sinclair is survived by one son; Ralph E. Sinclair and his wife Phyllis (DeYoung) of Derry, NH; one daughter; Helen I. Coffill of Tewksbury; one sister; Mary Fay of Reading; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Mr. Sinclair was the father of the late George R. and Richard A. Sinclair and brother of the late James and Arthur Sinclair.
Calling hours Tuesday, Dec. 27th, 3-7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service, Wednesday, Dec. 28th, 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Rte. 133, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 are requested.
