Flora (Susi) Ventresca of Somerville died on Monday, January 7. Born and raised in Sulmona, Italy, she was the cherished daughter of the late Loreto and Maria Domenica Susi. Flora came to the U.S. in 1966 and was employed for many years as a seamstress.
Flora was the beloved wife of the late Cesidio Ventresca, and the devoted mother of Maria Susi of Somerville and her late husband Nicola, Liliana D'Amato of Salem and her late husband Frank, and Ilda Grossi and her husband Joseph of Somerville. She was the loving grandmother of Frank Susi of Somerville, Marylu Susi of Stoneham, Deborah Anna Grossi-Luciano of North Reading, Jesse Anthony Grossi of Somerville, and the loving great grandmother of Michael and Matthew Luciano, and Dante and Damian LoPriore. Flora was the dear sister of the late Pasquale Susi and his wife Anna, the late Antonio Susi and his surviving wife Celia, and the late Irma DiCenso and her husband Ostilio. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, January 11 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, January 10, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
