MARY ELLEN LUNNY, 89, formerly of Ventura for 54 years, entered Heaven’s gates on
December 8, 2018. She was born in Marquette, Michigan on September 11, 1929.
Loving mother of eight children; John Antilla of Costa Rica, Cathy Kimzey (Roger) of Hawaii,
Jim Antilla of Hawaii, Amy Marsh (Ken) of Idaho, Patti Antilla of Arizona, David Antilla of
California and Julie Antilla-Garza (Martin) of Washington. She was preceded in death by her
first daughter, Carol Michaelis.
She was a very wonderful grandmother to nine and great-grandmother to six.
Mary enjoyed many years working as a Secretary at Holy Cross School and at Community
Memorial Hospital. She was a dedicated volunteer as a Pink Lady at the Hospital for 35 years.
She enjoyed traveling all over the world but especially to visit family. Her skills at knitting and
crochet were award winning as evidenced by all the ribbons she won at the Ventura County Fair.
She lovingly gave handmade gifts to her family and friends throughout the years. Her legacy will
live on.
The service celebrating her life will be in Ventura at Our Lady of Assumption Church on
Saturday, January 19th at 10 A.M. Viewing will be held at Reardon’s Funeral Home on Friday,
January 18th between 4-8 P.M. with the praying of the Rosary at 7 P.M.
She lived a full and joyous life and will be in our hearts forever.
