William T. Reilly Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 31, 2018. He was born on July 5, 1935, a son of the late William T. Reilly Sr. and Elizabeth (Haley) Reilly. William was a communicant of the former St Patrick’s Church in Chicopee. He retired from the Chicopee Fire Department in 1973 after many years of faithful service. William also worked as a bus driver for Travel Time in Springfield for several years and Mitchell’s Bus Co as well as working at Sunshine Biscuit Company for a period of time. He was past president of the Retired Chicopee Police and Firefighters Association of Mass; a member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council #69 in Chicopee where he was a past Grand Knight; he was a member of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club and the Tigers A.C. He is predeceased by his wife Rose (Lupien) Reilly who passed away in 2005. William is survived by his children Rose Reilly and her husband Edward Lemay of Chicopee, Joseph A. Reilly and his Fiancee' Renee Gamache of Chicopee, Kathleen Wilson and her husband Mark of Chicopee, Maryann Porter and her husband Bill of Chicopee, Annmarie Wilson and her husband James of Chicopee, Thomas M. Reilly and his friend Kelly Cupit of Chicopee; His companion Barbara Barczak of Buffalo New York. He is also survived by his 2 little furry friends Luna and Chloe who laid by his side all the time. 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and his close friends Bettyann Patrick of Chicopee, Ronnie and Kevin of Clearwater, Florida. William is also predeceased by his sons William T. Reilly III,and Thomas Joseph and his daughter Elizabeth Ann Reilly. We would also like to Thank Dr. Marc VanderLeeden and his staff. The Staff at Chicopee Gardens for taking great care of Dad after being released from the hospital. The staff at Baystate VNA Services for all the hard work they did with Dad while he was alive. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 from 4:00 -7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the Grise Funeral Home followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
