Haleigh Grace Gay, age 8, entered into rest on Thursday, January 3, 2019 following a lifelong battle with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome.
Haleigh lived in Thomson where she was in Ms. Kelsey Dozier’s first grade class at Maxwell Elementary School. Maxwell’s unofficial mascot, Haleigh’s infectious smile and sweet spirit was loved by the entire student body. She loved music, dancing, JoJo bows, and fishing at the lake with her daddy. She attended First Baptist Church of Thomson.
Haleigh is survived by her loving parents, Jason and Jennifer Gay of Thomson; grandparents, Andy and Cathy Gay, and Chuck and Dianne German, all of Augusta; great grandmothers, Helen Gay and Pauline Burns, both of Augusta; aunt and uncles, Nicole Jordan (Travis) of Lexington, South Carolina, Adam German (Crystal) and Justin German (Megan), both of Augusta; special cousin, Khloie German; and many loving great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 P.M. Saturday at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road.
A celebration of Haleigh’s life will take place at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the Chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road. Reverend David Lambert and Dr. Timothy Pendrey will officiate. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
