Florence E. (Duffy) Miller in her 100th year died peacefully, with her family at her side, Tuesday January 2, 2019 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Wrentham, following an illness. She was the wife of the late Leslie A. Miller, Sr., who died in 1954.
Born November 7, 1919 in Lincoln, Rhode Island a daughter of the late Ensworth S. and Ellen (Parkinson) Duffy, she was a Franklin resident since 1937.
She was raised and educated in Lincoln and Cumberland, Rhode Island. Florence worked as a hostess at the former Floral Steakhouse, was the function manager for both the Franklin Country Club and the former Pipinelle’s Restaurant in Franklin until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, summers in Boothbay, Maine, ocean cruises, and wintering in Florida.
Florence is survived by her children, Barbara E. Cornell and her husband Tom of East Boothbay, Maine, Leslie A. Miller, Jr. and his partner Maureen Lyons of Franklin and Linda M. Flanders and her husband Ken of Franklin.
Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Robert Cornell, Nancy J. Longobardi, Karen Jasmin, Geoffrey Cornell, Domenic Longobardi, Beth Tannar, Ryan Flanders, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Judith A. Longobardi, Nancy J. Miller, grandmother of the late Kevin S. and Craig S. Miller and sister of the late Charles S. Duffy, Edith A. Wyman and Ruth Paluga.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday Jan. 9th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral home 33 Cottage St. at 10AM.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours are Tuesday Jan. 8th from 5-8PM.
