Barbara E. (Colby) Gately, 84, of Medway died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Born in Douglas on November 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Alma (Petrie) Colby.
Mrs. Gately was a resident of Medway for over 20 years and formerly resided in Dedham. She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School.
Before her retirement, she worked at Sun Life Financial of Canada and Wellesley for 15 years.
She is survived by her son Steven Gately and his wife Polly Parke of Dedham, four daughters, Gail Bowen and her husband Sam of Douglas, Diane Gately and her spouse Kathleen Seaman of Norwood, Janet Dionis and her husband Ted of Wrentham and Carol Gately of Dedham, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mema will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Ann Eldridge of Kingston and Karen Hall of Brockton and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late David Colby.
