Veda Easters Pitts Goodman, 89, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Mark Stone officiating. Mrs. Goodman will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Joe Ireland, Pablo Benavides, Moses Benavides, Wesley Chambless, Michael Pitts and Brent Chambless will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 27, 1929 in Enigma, Mrs. Goodman was the daughter of the late Perry G. Easters and Eva Dubose Easters. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Pitts; her second husband, Charles “Buddy” Goodman; one daughter, Jean Pitts Ireland; one son, Barry Pitts; one step-son, Darryl Goodman; one brother, Hilton Easters; one sister, Elizabeth Fender; and one brother-in-law, Raymond “Honeybee” Buquo. Before retiring, she was a hairdresser at Jeanette’s Beauty Shop and a member of Enigma Congregational Christian Church. She was an avid reader and baker of the best cakes ever made.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by two sons and their spouses, Bruce and Jean Pitts of Lakeland, FL and Scott and Gabe Goodman of Tifton; two step-daughters and their spouses, Sandra and Gene Jones of Sylvester and Kathy and Jerry Griffin of Crawfordville, FL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara Buquo and Mary Alice and Laferrell Salter; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
