Geraldine C. (Belanger) Bowen 86 of Brockton, formerly of Whitman, passed away at St. Joseph Manor on January 1, after a long period of failing health. She was the devoted wife of the late Regis B. Bowen.
She was born in 1932 in Quincy, MA to Joseph and Julia (Cronin) Belanger. She was a longtime resident of Whitman.
She leaves behind 6 children, Doreen Dion and her late husband Charles of Carver, Thomas Bowen and his significant other Cindy Waters of Chatham, Richard Bowen and his wife Jane of Bridgewater, Janet Kielty and her husband David of Rochester, Cheryl Lombard and her husband David of Halifax, and Paul Bowen and his wife Joanne of East Bridgewater. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Alexa, Jeffrey, Christina, Bradley, Casey, Andrew, Derek, Jennifer, Scott, Michael and Nicole, and 14 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held Monday January 7 at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be on Sunday January 6 from 2:00-5:00 PM.
