Frederick A. Sands, a Woburn resident for twenty years formerly of Quincy passed away at his home, Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was 69 years of age. Born in Warren, PA he was the son of the late Helen M. (Huggins) and Ernest L. Sands, Jr.
Fred graduated high school in Rhode Island and shortly after he enlisted into the United States Navy and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a shoe salesman for several different department stores over his sales career. Very devoted to his family, Fred was always planning and looking forward to the next family gathering. He loved to play cards with family and friends and was happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved.
Fred was the beloved brother of Ernest Sands and his wife Elaine of Lynn, Elizabeth Smith of Nashua, NH, Barbara Ganley and her husband James of Tewksbury, the late Helen G. Buckawicki and Irving N. Sands. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Fred's wishes funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Service of Woburn.
