Shirley Schofill Dill, 64, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at her residence, after a courageous battle fighting cancer for over 14 years.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating and her brother, William Schofill, delivering a eulogy.
Ms. Dill was born July 25, 1954, in Crisp County, Georgia to the late W.A. & Alma Thompson Schofill. She lived in the community most of her life and worked for Planters First Bank formerly known as The First State Bank of Ocilla for over 34 years, serving as a loan officer and Vice-President. Ms. Dill worshiped her two sons and participated in all of their activities. She enjoyed cooking, decorating and arranging flowers. She always cared for everyone and was a valiant fighter as she faced her declining health. Ms. Dill was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons: Corey Jackson of Ocilla and Zane Dill of Ocilla; her best friend, Levy Dill of Ocilla; siblings: Bo & Gladys Schofill of Sasser, Linda & Buddy Drawdy of Albany, Laura Mashburn of Albany, Nell Schofill of Bridgeboro; Patricia White of Hogansville and Virgil & Patricia Schofill of Cordele. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings: Genelle Clark, Buddy Schofill, Johnnie Faye Chitwood and Charles Schofill; and two brothers-in-law: Randy White and James Mashburn.
