Albert M. "Al" Reilly, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 31, 2018 at his home in Charlestown. He was 78 years of age.
Al was born in Boston on May 14, 1940, a son of the late Maurice Reilly and Dorothy (Titman) Reilly. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Al worked as a mechanic most of his adult life where he operated Reilly's Garage in the Sullivan Square area of Charlestown in the late 1970's before moving to Washington Street in Somerville where he operated his garage for over 40 years. Al enjoyed restoring antique cars and riding his motorcycle.
Al is the beloved husband of the late Jean Marie (O'Neill) Reilly. He is the devoted father of Colleen Costa-Ferrari, Albert Reilly, Robert Reilly, Cheryl McSharry, Roger Reilly, Patricia Jean Reilly, Helena Reilly and Sean Reilly. He is the loving Grampy to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Doris Proia, Irene Leddy and the late John Reilly and Robert Reilly. He is the dear friend of Patricia Noonan and Kathleen Swales.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Al's Funeral on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
