Anthony (Tony) G. Reed, 59, of Buxton, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 30th, 2018 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough.
Tony was born in Portland, ME to Iris and Roger Reed on April 26 1959. He went to school in Portland and grew up in the Kennedy Park area. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return from Germany, he met and married the love of his life, Penny, on May 25th 1985.
Tony worked for Georges Tree Service with his brothers George and Linwood. After getting married, he worked at Jordan Meats as a meat processor. Tony went to work with his brother Dana at North American Industrial Service. They spent most of their time in Connecticut working cleaning the plants when they shut down. Before getting sick, Tony was involved in the AMVETS.
Tony loved to hunt and fish. He loved to cook, and could come up with some unique ideas.
Family was everything to him. His family was large and made sure everyone felt welcome. He always had a hug to give and a smile on his face. He loved to make people laugh and he always had a joke or two up his sleeve. When he was in the hospital, in ICU, he was joking with the Dr.’s and nurses. Even being sick, he never missed a family reunion or cookout.
Tony is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Penelope (Penny) just 11 months ago. His parents, Iris and Roger. His brothers Arthur, George, Linwood, Leroy, Bernard and his sister Gloria. He is also predeceased by a niece and nephew.
Tony is survived by his children Jennifer and her husband Michael of Owasso, OK, Christina of Buxton, ME and Scott-Anthony of Buxton, ME. Grandchildren, Nicole, Desirae, Seth, Cassandra, Mason and James. He had several siblings, Dana and his wife Vicky of Westbrook, James and his wife Evelyn of Old Orchard, Roger and his wife Dianna of South Portland and his sister Carol and sister in law Lilly. He had many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
