Obituary

Glenwood R. "Pete" Wordell, Jr., 89, of Fall River died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Royal Taber Street Nursing & Rehab Center in New Bedford. He was husband of the late Rosalin (Grillo) Wordell.

Born in Little Compton, he was son of the late Glenwood R. and Rena (Brownell) Wordell. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Wordell was a lifetime member and past commander of the VFW Post #9059 Dartmouth. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed driving truck and farming, but most of all he loved spending time with his family

Survivors include 3 sons: Peter Wordell of Westport, Bruce Wordell of Dartmouth and Scott Wordell of Fall River; 3 daughters: Glenda R. Souza of Dartmouth, Lorna Dias of Dartmouth and Robyn L. Wordell-Moore of CT; 2 sisters: Gladys Grundy of Westport and Ruth Farias of Fall River; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Philip Wordell and Frederick Wordell.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 10 AM.

Calling hours Tuesday 4-7 PM.

Burial in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
