Dorothy V Scapicchio passed away peacefully at home in the company of a loving family. She was 81. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Peter and the late Maria Rose (Iascone) Scapicchio. Dorothy lived in Medford for many years and then enjoyed a 25 year career as an administrative assistant and secretary for a large brokerage firm in San Francisco, California. During her retirement, she returned to live in Boston to be near her family and enjoyed her winters in Florida. Dorothy was devoted to her family and friends. She had many interests but most enjoyed following politics and keeping up with policy discussions and debate. She will be missed by her family and friends.
The beloved sister of Emilio James Scapicchio and his late wife Josette of Boston’s North End, Lydia Nuzzo and her husband Eddie of Medford, Sebastian “Sammy” Scapicchio of Boynton Beach, Fla., the late Connie, Peter and Angelo Scapicchio, Mary McCann and her surviving husband John, and Robert Scapicchio and his surviving wife Florence. Dorothy also leaves behand many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her dear friend Dany Quesnel of NH.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Wednesday January 2nd at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Tuesday 4 - 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to the charity of One’s choice.
