HAGGERTY William J. III of Dedham formerly of Newtonville, December 28, 2018. Age 73. Beloved husband of Susan A. (Hunt) Haggerty. Devoted father of Jennifer Haggerty, Kerry Haggerty, and Gerianne Haggerty all of Dedham.
Brother of Mary Lou Leonard of Plymouth, Francis I. Haggerty of Falmouth, S. Jane Haggerty of Melrose, Paul Haggerty of Naples, FL., Susan Carta of Northboro, Christopher Haggerty of Shrewsbury, and Grace Haggerty of Concord.
Bill completed two tours of duty in Vietnam, U.S. Army. After graduation from Boston College he became a tax adjudicator for the Commonwealth of Mass. He enjoyed the beach and had a great interest in old cars and the Civil War. William enjoyed driving taxis for Veterans Cab for many years.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. Dedham on Wednesday, January 2nd from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, January 3rd. at 10:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anne’s Church, Readville at 11:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne on Thursday, January 3rd at 1:45pm.
