Marie Alyce (Watts) Crapo, 99, of New Bedford, formerly of Westport, died Friday, December 28, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alden S. Crapo. Born in Warren, RI, daughter of the late Phillip and Angeline (Demers) Watts, she had lived in Westport since 1945. Mrs. Crapo was a passionate member of the Pacific Union Congregational Church, Westport. She was employed at Cesco Products until her retirement in 1981. Following retirement, she was very involved for many years as a caretaker for the elderly.
An avid walker and Red Sox fan, she also enjoyed baking and gardening. Mrs. Crapo had a great fondness of nature, especially hummingbirds and butterflies. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family.
Survivors include 2 grandchildren: Adam P. Crapo and his wife Jeana Ayala of Los Angeles, CA and Catherine Elizabeth Hamel and her husband Scott of Hopkinton, RI; great-grandson: Alden Wayne Hamel; daughter-in-law: Victoria J. Crapo of New Bedford; sister-in-law: Claire Watts of Raynham, formerly of Easton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Dennis S. Crapo.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home at 4 PM.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 PM prior to the funeral.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
