Obituary

SMITH Carolyn S. (Blackwell)

With heavy hearts and profound sadness the news is shared that Carolyn S. Smith, 69, of Plymouth formerly of Wellesley passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 26, 2018 after a courageous health battle. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by loved ones. She was the loving wife of Clifton N. Smith Jr.

Born on July 13, 1949 in Jasper Alabama. She is the daughter of Pauline (Blackwell) Murray of Saraland Alabama. She was a 1968 graduate of Stranahan High School in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
Carolyn was the devoted wife of Clifton N Smith Jr. for 49 years. Loving mother of Scott Smith and Tim Smith and their wives Sharlene and Meg. Loving grandmother of Jacob Smith, Jacen Smith and Taylor Smith, all of whom she was very proud.

Loving sister of Charlotte and her husband Charlie Frank, of Polo, Illinois and Aunt to Ty Niehaus of Vero Beach Florida. She lived most of her life in Wellesley where she raised her two boys Scott and Tim. For the majority of her life she was a devoted stay at home Mom. As her boys grew older she worked in various capacities as an office assistant at F. Diehl’s and Sons, and the Wellesley Housing Authority but still always found the time to be there for her boys. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved from Wellesley to Plymouth Ma. She enjoyed getting together with friends and family, exploring the foods of the many eating establishments in the Plymouth area with her husband. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren as much as she could. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards or she was on the sun porch of her Plymouth home performing various sewing tasks but her real passion became quilting. She was an avid dog lover and was always excited to see her sons dogs when visiting. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.
