Russell N. Sherman, 86, of Madison, Alabama, formerly of Westport, Massachusetts, died peacefully, with his family by his side, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 in Madison AL. He was the husband of Evelyn (Snively) Sherman of Madison, AL.
Born in Westport, son of the late Roger D. and Olive A. (Hart) Sherman, he grew up and lived in Westport until joining the military in 1952. After retiring as a CW4, Russell continued to serve as an engineer in the aerospace and defense industry until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Westport Fisherman’s Association.
He is survived by 7 children: George Sherman of NH, Charles Sherman of TX, Diane Marshall of KS, Kathleen Sherman of NC, Sandra Watson of TX, Susan Fischer of CO, and Melanie McGhee of TX; 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home at 9 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 4 – 7 P.M.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
