Akeke of Brockton December 19, 2005, Mary Akeke, 91 years. Sister of Susie Sebilian of Brockton and the late Husep, Ferris, Rose Akeke and Nora Rodophele. Aunt of Peter C. Akeke and Roseann O’Connor both of Brockton, Cindy Conrad of E. Bridgewater George and Joseph Sebilian both of Brockton, Richard Ferris of Bridgewater, Marie Bevis of Cape Cod and the late Martin Akeke. Also survived by eleven great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday at 4-8 pm.
Obituary
Miss Akeke died Monday evening at the Braemoor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Sadie (Norman) Akeke. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton, attending Brockton schools. Mary worked for Knapp Shoe in Brockton for many years. She was Past President and past Treasurer and a lifetime member of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary Post 1046. Mary had devoted many years to the Veterans cause and especially as a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Brockton. Former member of the Women’s Lebanese/American Club. She had been a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and former communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Church. Miss Akeke enjoyed knitting and most recently donated all of her paraphernalia to the Instructor of the Community Educational Department at Massasoit Community College
