Betty H. Hartley, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. The family will receive friends, Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Hartley was born March 7, 1933, in Bushnell, Georgia, to the late James Hiawatha & Mary Magdalene Nipper Holley. She graduated from high school in Baxley. She worked for Modern Fibers as a twist operator. Ms. Hartley enjoyed crafting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Crossview Baptist Church and the Golden Believers.
She is survived by her children: Pat Bayard & Sonya Johnson of Irwinville, Jeff & Donna Bayard of Nichols, Paula & Steve Smith of Dallas, Georgia, and John & Dena Buras of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren: Jeremy & Brandy Bayard, Kelli & Marc Nelms, Holly & Casey Conner, Kimberley & Micah Collins, Heather Bayard, Nicole & Mike Benedetti, Michelle Bychurch, and Samantha & D.J. Anderson; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George Anthony “Tony” Bayard; a grandson, Michael Buras; and three brothers.
