Obituary

JOHN G. THOMAS, 81, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, Dec. 13th at the Quincy Medical Center. Mr. Thomas was born in Quincy and was a lifelong resident. He worked most of his life in the Quincy Syrian Bakery started by his father, George Thomas. As a hobby, he built grandfather clocks, detailed scale models of ocean sea vessels, built and flew scale model remote controlled airplanes and was also interested in archery. His favorite pet companion was an Amazon parrot, which he used to take with him on his trips to various stores around Quincy.

He was the father of Frank G. Thomas of Scituate, Mona M. Wirthner of Switzerland, Brenda M. Schembri of San Francisco, the late Stephen Thomas and the late Christopher Thomas. Brother of Louis Thomas of Quincy, Edward Thomas of Roxbury, Victoria Thomas of Canton, the late Alexander Thomas, the late Jim Thomas and the late Helen Joseph. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
