Obituary

SPRINGFIELD ~ Bibiane (Cote) Durocher, 83, of the East Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, December 22, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Thetford Mines, Province of Quebec, Canada on January 13, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Wilfrid and Laureat (Gagne) Cote. She was raised in Granby, P.Q., Canada and in 1957, moved to Springfield where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Dietary Aide at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and retired in 1996. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking and was an avid quilter. She loved playing the piano and attending the theater. Bibiane and her husband, Henri, were snowbirds for over 20 years, they enjoyed their winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida. Most of all, she was a loving mother to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield where she was a member of Les Dames de Sainte Anne Sodality. She most recently was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Springfield. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Henri J. Durocher. They were married on September 3, 1955 in Granby, P.Q., Canada and were blessed with over 63 years of happiness together. Besides her beloved husband, she also leaves her four loving children, Carole D. Jerusik of Springfield, Roger E. Durocher and his wife, Cynthia, of Amesbury, MA, Louise R. Tokman of West Springfield, and Richard W. Durocher of Cheshire, CT; her eight cherished grandchildren, Peter Jerusik and his wife, Jennifer, Paul Jerusik and his wife, Alexis, Michael Durocher and his wife, Brittany, Christopher Durocher and his wife, Jennifer, Alexander Durocher and his wife, Stephanie, Nicholas Tokman, Marten Durocher, and Erik Durocher; her four cherished great-grandchildren, Rachel and Riley Jerusik and Wyatt and Keira Durocher; her four dear brothers, Jean Rock Cote, Gaetan Cote and his wife, Pierrette, Gaston Cote, and Vianney Cote and his wife, Lise; her dear brother-in-law, Rosaire Henault; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended members of the Durocher and Cote families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Rita Cote and her dear brother, Benoit Cote. Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. On Saturday morning, January 5, 2019, her family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield, MA 01118. (Please meet directly at the Church) Her burial will be private at a later date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
