FALL RIVER… Carl D. DaPonte, II, 67, of Fall River passed away accidently, December 16, 2018.
He was born in Fall River, a son of the late Carl D. and Juliette (Dionne) DaPonte and had lived in Fall River most of his life.
Carl was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and worked as a bus driver for Cozy Bus Company in Fall River.
Mr. DaPonte was a member of the Veterans Association of Bristol County in Fall River and volunteered a lot of his time to them. He enjoyed going to the gym, camping, the outdoors, studying martial arts, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include 4 sons: Chad W. Braga and his wife Christine and Craig K. Braga and his wife Kelsey all of Swansea, Carl D. DaPonte, III of Fall River, Karl DaPonte of FL; a brother: Ronald DaPonte of FL; 5 grandchildren: Austin J. Braga, Ashlyn M. Braga, Leah T. Braga, Jonathan D. Braga and Kyle DaPonte; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Janet Alves.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723. Interment will be in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 - 8 PM.
