Larry Gayle Lawrence, 78, of Sparks passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2018, at Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox with the Rev. Jim Vaughn officiating. The Rev. Larry Dean will give a eulogy. Mr. Lawrence will be laid to rest at Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 23, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Stuart Lawrence, Kolby Lawrence, Terry Pafford, Ray Tyson and Hunter Caley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Hosey, Butch Hosey, Greg Nimmo and Mike Lawrence.
Born July 24, 1940 in Brooks County, Mr. Lawrence was the son of the late Hoke Smith Lawrence, Sr. and Cindy Rilla Touchton Lawrence. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hoke Smith Lawrence, Jr. and Leon Lawrence. Before retiring, he worked at Tifton Aluminum Company for over 25 years. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox, where he served as a deacon for several years.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Holland Lawrence of Sparks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stuart and Judith Catherine Lawrence of Sparks and Timothy Eugene and Jennifer Nicole Lawrence of Chatsworth; one grandson and his wife, Kolby Stuart and Becca Anne Lawrence; his nieces and nephews, Stephen Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Theresa Tran and Brian Lawrence; and a special cousin, Toni Montgomery Hosey of Tifton.
