Stephen Ralph Lievens, 68, of Londonderry, NH died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home in Londonderry. He was born June 10, 1950 in East Derry, NH, the son of William Edward and Catherine (Mills) Lievens. He graduated from St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, Class of 1969. While attending St. Paul’s, he rowed on the Varsity Crew. After graduating from St. Paul’s, he attended UC Berkley. Mr. Lievens was a life long resident of Londonderry. After the death of their father, William E. Lievens, Stephen and his brother Robert, continued to operate Woodmont Orchards, the family business. He was a member of various apple growers organizations including the North East Apple Society, that combined the apple business and skiing. He served on the boards of the Pioneer Farm Credit Bank and the New England Apple Council.
He was an avid sports fan and attended many Celtics and Red Sox games. He played bass and sang in the local Blues Band, “Jack”.
He is survived by his long-time partner, Bonnie Hunter of Chester, NH; his son, Edward, and daughter, Chelsea, both of Londonderry; his brother, Robert and his wife Deborah of Londonderry; two sisters, Susan Lievens of Bradford, MA, and Catherine Lievens Gallagher of Monrovia, CA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, December 29th from 2 – 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry with cremation to follow. Steven will be buried in the Spring in the Lieven’s Family Cemetery in Londonderry.
