Obituary

Eileen J. (Sullivan) Kelly, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 84 years of age.

Eileen was born in Boston on December 22, 1933, a daughter of the late Daniel Sullivan and Anne (Flynn) Sullivan. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston in 1951. Eileen worked at Hoods Milk Company in Charlestown for several years as a Purchasing Agent before she began working for the City of Boston for 15 years as an Office Manager. Eileen's proud work ethic brought her to work at her son's liquor store on Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown where everyone who came into Bunker Hill Liquors was greeted by Mrs. Kelly with a big smile and a piece of advice. She enjoyed reading, but her most enjoyment in life was each one of her grandchildren and the quality times she was able to spend with each one of them.

Eileen is the devoted mother of Paul Kelly and his wife Lois, Karen Kelly and her companion Fred Dandrow, Colleen Justice and her husband Gary, AnnMarie Ferry and her husband Michael and the late Eileen "NeeNee" Goroshko. She is the devoted Gram to Jill, Paul Jr., Kasey, Kairsten, Jolie, Kelly, Jackie, Luke, Zachary, Janell, Danielle, Cole, Marci, Candace, Blake, the late Gary and also Loving "GG" to her 16 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Margaret "Peggy" Watts, Helen Cotter, retired Boston Fire Lieutenant Robert Sullivan, Judy Burns and the late Ann Marie Winkler, John "Jack" Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Edward Sullivan, Albert Sullivan, Gerald Sullivan and William Sullivan. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eileen's Funeral on her birthday, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
