Festus Rudolph Brown, 77, of Douglas, Georgia, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinetta Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Brown was born March 16, 1941, in Patterson, Georgia, to the late Peter Festus & Maude Durance Brown. He worked for Dorminy Brothers building fish ponds. Mr. Brown enjoyed hunting quail and dove, but fishing was his passion. He took pride in a clean yard and a clean house. Mr. Brown was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship in Douglas, Georgia.
He is survived by three sons: Tony Brown of Unadilla, Clint Brown & Patricia of Hawkinsville and Henry Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Tony Brown, Jr., Amber Rose Brown, Brittany Brown and Sierra Brown; siblings: Elise Parrish & Kent of Fitzgerald, Robert Brown & Sharon of Yulee, Florida, Henry Brown & Mamie of Conyers and Shelia Hodges of Covington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Nona Faye Fountain and Dean Murphy; a brother, H.G. Brown; three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
