George R. Nicolau, age 87 of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Clementine (Rideout) Nicolau and the son of the late Francisco R. and Victoria (Mello) Nicolau. Prior to retiring, George worked as a Technician at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a cigar aficionado.
In addition to his beloved wife of Tiverton, survivors include his children: Robert F.R. Nicolau of New Bedford, Nancy A. Hankins (husband Kenneth) of Somerset, Maribeth Lencioni of Greeley, CO, and Patricia Boucher (husband Wilfred) of Assonet; siblings: Teresa Silvia and Walter Nicolau; six grandchildren: Amanda Almeida (husband Andrew), Robert G. Nicolau, Christopher M. Hankins (wife Nawal), Adam Lencioni, Andrew Lencioni, and Wilfred Boucher III; three great grandchildren: Jaxson Lencioni, Lucas Almeida, and Grayson Lencioni; several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, Dec. 21st with a service in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Interment with Military Honors in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI. Calling hours on Thursday, Dec. 20th from 4-8 P.M.
