Obituary

Anna Adams (Adomavicius)

It is difficult to think of Anna Adams and not remember her beautiful gardens and flowers. Whether it was in South Boston, Winchester or Cape Cod, her love of flowers enchanted us all. The colorful tulips and hyacinths in spring, marigolds and dahlias in summer and chrysanthemums in fall gladdened our hearts. Maybe Anna's garden bloomed so wonderfully because she put so much heart into everything she did.

Anna loved beauty, not only in her gardens but also in her home, welcoming guests with warmth and grace. She especially enjoyed literature and wrote of her life events and emotions in poetic verse. Here are a few lines from her "Thoughts of Years Past"...

It was spring and we were young and happy.
Carefree youth danced between the flowers like a breeze.
Sadly it was a time too brief
As time stole away our beautiful youthful years.

Anna was born in the town of Baroniskiai, Siauliai county, Lithuania. As World War II began, she wed her childhood friend Kazys Adomavicius. They left their beloved homeland and family to begin a new life in America. Together they raised 3 children, Victor, Birute and Ramona. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Andrew, Aleks, Max and Anna.

It is difficult to describe a person's life in a few words. Anna Adams's life was filled with beauty and love. Beauty of nature and fine literature. Love of country, God and family. She died peacefully at home on December 15, 2018.

In late Spring 2019, a private memorial for family and friends will be held in Centerville, Massachusetts. Donations may be made in her memory to: Lithuanian Foundation Inc. 14911 127th St., Lemont IL. 60439-7417.
