BUXTON- George Garrigan III, age 69, passed away on Dec. 12, 2018 at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Westbrook on May 20, 1949, a son of the late George II and Shirley (Emmons) Garrigan and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School.
For 44 years, George worked at Der-Tex, formerly Lyn-Flex and served as a manager.
George will always be remembered the enjoyment he had with model and remote-controlled air planes, playing golf, cards, dice, and pool, and disco dancing in the late 1970’s.
He is predeceased by his parents; and a brother- Michael Garrigan.
George is survived by his wife Edith “Dee” (Sherman) Garrigan; daughter- Beverly Garrigan of Standish; step children- Wayne Foss of Buxton, Michelle Foss of South Portland, Kristy Pendexter of Saco, and Bobbi-Jo Felix of GA; siblings- Debbie Nugent and her husband Mike of NC, Lori Schopen and her husband Kurt of Hollis, and Bruce Garrigan and his fiancé Kristen Hopkins of Arundel; sister-in-law- Barbara Garrigan of Dayton; grandchildren- Joseph Garrigan and Jordan Garrigan-Swett; ten step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday Dec. 17 from 5 – 6 PM, followed by a 6 PM funeral service at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (RT. 22) in Buxton.
