Amy (Wright) Vaillancourt, 81 of Westport died December 12, 2018. She was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, memere and great memere. She gave the best hugs you could ever imagine. She loved the ocean, snow, giraffes and watermelon. She was the wife of Richard Vaillancourt for 62 years.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Lester Wright and the late Louise (Taylor) Wright-Gouveia. She resided in Westport for 42 years before moving to Tiverton and then back to Westport.
She is survived by a son: Richard Vaillancourt, Jr. and his wife Anne of FL; three daughters: Donna Smeaton (her caregiver) and her husband Gary of Westport, Heidi Parent and her husband Norman of Somerset and Mundy Olivier and her husband Marc of Westport; 6 grandchildren: Gary and his wife C.J., April (also her caregiver) and her husband Todd, Shayne and his wife Katie, Adam and his wife Rachel, Janelle and Magen (her little chicken); 5 great grandchildren: Chase, Kylie and Sierra Caswell and Cedar and Zen Parent; a sister: Ada Godbout of Chicopee, MA; and 3 brothers: Lester Wright of N. Attleboro, William Wright of Fall River and Frank Wright of Westport.
She always said what kept her alive was seeing her great grandchildren so often, she loved them very much.
Amy requested to be cremated with no viewing or services, but to please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
