Norman F. Tassinari age 92 of Avon died Monday December 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Niklason) Tassinari for 65 years. Norman was born and raised in Hanson, a son of the late Francis and Annie (Hollen) Tassinari and had lived in Avon for over 25 years.
During WWII he served in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre.
In 1988 Norman retired as a rigging supervisor with General Dynamics at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. He had also worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT.
In his free time Norman enjoyed golf, woodworking, and raising and canning vegetables from his garden. In his younger years he had been a small aircraft pilot. Norman will be remembered as an honest and hardworking man who was a great provider and role model. He was especially proud of his family.
In addition to his wife, Norman leaves two sons David Tassinari and his wife Cynthia of Middleboro and Paul Tassinari and his wife Tracey of Bridgewater. He was the brother of Roy Tassinari of Hanson and the late Lorraine Casey. He also leaves a granddaughter Michelle and two nephews Vincent and Michael and a niece Glenna.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) on Saturday 9-10:30am followed by a funeral service. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Donations in Norman’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
