Denise J. Dufresne, 69, of Woonsocket died Sunday December 9, 2018 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Dennis Dufresne. They were married on May 31, 1968 and shared almost 30 years together until his passing in 1997.
Born and raised in Manville she was a daughter of the late Gaston and Jeannette (Boisvert) Lariviere. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life.
Denise was employed at Woonsocket Health Center in the laundry department. She previously worked at American Tourister, Colby Glass and the Big D Supermarket. Denise was a member of the Enrico Caruso Club in Manville. She was adept at puzzles and word search games.
Denise had a wonderful personality. She was a real prankster and loved to share all sorts of jokes. Denise had her own unique way with words and she could concoct just the right nickname for anyone and everyone.
Denise had a special place in her heart for her family whom she loved to the moon and back. She equally loyal and devoted to her special circle of friends affectionately known as “THE HAS BEENS” with special emphasis on the “Has Been” !!!
Denise’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those she loved. If you shed a tear for her loss Denise would want you to crack a smile and have a laugh in her memory.
Denise is survived by her two daughters Pamela L. Jalette and her companion Timothy Amburg of Wilton, Maine and Laurie A. Plante and her husband Paul of Woonsocket. She was the mother of the late Steven D. Dufresne who passed away in 2005. She was the sister of Normand Lariviere and his wife Joan, Lucy Farrell and her husband Kevin and Suzanne Lariviere and her husband the late Raymond Lanctot all of Manville. She was also the sister of the late Marcel Lariviere. Denise is survived by her grandchildren Kayla Guilbault, Brittany Rivard, Nicholas Amburg, Jaclyn and Zackery Plante and great-grandchildren Braylon, Keith, Jacoby and Eliana and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 15, 2018 at noon in St. James Church 33 Division St ., Manville. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
