CAPE ELIZABETH - Heidi Marie Hetz of Cape Elizabeth passed away on Dec. 8, 2018, in Scarborough.She is survived by her son Joshua Dayton; brothers Peter and Gordon, her sister Bettina; nephew Christopher, and nieces Tara, and Tatiana. Heidi was the daughter of the late Hellmut and Romaine Hetz of Wilton, Conn.In life she loved nature, animals, and sewing. She owned a small quilt shop in South Portland, Maine, and would make gifts for clients, friends and, family. Heidi was an advocate for the mentally ill; having helped support her younger brother Christopher Hetz when he developed a mental illness, and has since preceded her.The family encourages anyone who is so inclined to make donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in her name
