HOLIDAY, FL ~ Eva E. “Kelly” (Lambert) Garrity, 92, of Holiday, Florida and a former longtime resident of Chicopee and a longtime summer resident of Goshen, Massachusetts, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Trinity Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on May 21, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Telesphore and Parmelia (Laferriere) Lambert. She was raised in New Bedford and at a young age, her parents moved to Grove Street in Chicopee. During her leisure time, Eva enjoyed sewing, making comforters, knitting, crocheting and making crafts. Most of all, she was a loving wife and mother who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of Saint Vincent de Paul Church in Holiday, FL. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, John J. Garrity who was Called Home on August 24, 1998. She leaves her three loving children, Doris P. Dutko of Holiday, FL with whom she lived, Dolores H. Lawler of Mt. Holly, NJ and Brian J. Garrity and his wife, Julie, of Harpswell, ME; her eight cherished grandchildren, Andrew Dutko and his wife, Jennifer, Tina Dutko and her partner, Chuck, Cherie O’Shea and her husband, Paul, Karen Dougherty, Edward Lawler and his wife, Stacy, Nicholas Garrity and his wife, Maria, Andrea Zabel and her husband, Ben and Kelly Marble and her husband, Steve; her thirteen cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brother-in-law, Albert Garrity; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Garrity and Lambert families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her eight dear siblings, Alphonse, Paul, Armand, Ovila and Henry Lambert, Yvonne Gaudreau, Antoinette Lemay and Alice Zacharie. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
