Ruth (Cookson) Rodrigues, 84, of Westport passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Somerset Ridge Center. She was the wife of the late John Rodrigues.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Sydney and Mabel (Lang) Cookson, she had lived in Westport for most of her life. A caring and wonderful mother and steadfast in her perpetual concern for her family, she was happiest when surrounded by her boys, her beloved grandchildren, extended family and friends. Always a threat at the poker table, she was always up for a card game. Ruth loved her many cats, enjoyed going to the casino and watching classic movies. She was loved by so many. Ruth is now at peace and beside her husband John.
Survivors include 3 sons: Michael J. Rodrigues and his wife Patricia of Westport, Mark A. Rodrigues and his wife Linda of Fall River and Matthew R. Rodrigues and his wife Nathalia of Port St. Lucie, FL; a brother: Richard Cookson of Tiverton; 2 grandchildren: Ian Rodrigues and Mayka Rodrigues; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Donald, Kenneth, Russell, Wayne Cookson and Barbara Hardy.
Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 at First Congregational Church of Fall River, 282 Rock St., Fall River at 11:00 A.M.
Immediately following the service there will be a Celebration of Ruth's Life for all to attend at the Fall River Country Club, 4232 N. Main St., Fall River.
