Mildred (“Millie”) C. Potter, age 91 of Wrentham, died peacefully on December 5, 2018, at The Pond Home where she resided since February, 2017.
Millie was born on September 29, 1927 in Boston, Ma to Mildred and Patrick Bresnahan. She grew up in “Southie” with her brother George, and three sisters, Jean, Evie and Ann.
As a young adult, she worked with her sister Jean at the United Fruit Company where she had the opportunity to travel to Cuba. She retired from her position at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham after many years as a customer service representative.
She loved the ocean and was blessed to spend many years living between her beach house in Matunuck, RI and her home in Barefoot Bay, FL which she shared with her dear friend, Pat Kennedy.
Mildred leaves behind her daughter, Katherine Potter and wife Cynthia Toombs of Boston; her sister Ann Carmody and husband Joseph Carmody of Norfolk, Ma; granddaughters Elizabeth Roper and her husband Kayce Roper and their three children: Jocelyn, Alana and Timothy of Evanston, WY, and granddaughter Stephanie Potter and her three children: Rodney, Anna and Kiley of Rock Springs, WY as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Mildred is pre-deceased by her son, Timothy Potter, her sisters: Jean Casey and Evelyn Souza and her brother George Bresnahan.
Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton on Monday from 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment private.
