SPRINGFIELD ~ Geneva S. “Jeanie” (Dixon) Rousakis, 85, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in New Bern, North Carolina on January 11, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Sadie Dixon. She was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina and moved to Springfield in the early 1950’s. She was employed for 39 years as an assembler at the Milton Bradley Company, now Hasbro Games, in East Longmeadow. During her leisure time, Jeanie enjoyed visiting the casinos and watching her favorite team, the New York Yankees. Most of all, she was a wonderful mother and homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Nicholas Rousakis who was Called Home on September 29, 1998; her loving son, Nicholas E. “Butchie” Rousakis who was Called Home on September 29, 1985; and her loving daughter, Patricia S. Belanger who was Called Home on February 20, 2018. She leaves her loving children, Loretta J. “Peaches” Belanger and her husband, Jerry, Raymond L. Rousakis and his wife, Jodi, and Richard W. Rousakis and his partner, Bertha Duchesne, all of Springfield; her loving son-in-law, Mike Belanger of Springfield; her eight cherished grandchildren, Melinda Hales, Loretta Stewart, Kimberly Hales, Sylena Echevarria and her husband, Edward Kelly, Heather Echevarria, Neva Lopez, Katie Majmudar and her husband, Kunal, and Samantha Pusateri and her husband, Russell; her 21 cherished great-grandchildren; her seven cherished great-great grandchildren; and her many dear extended family members and friends. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will be private for her family. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
