Flora Oyola, known as Doña Flora, resident of Boston MA, formerly of Naranjito, PR, passed away on December 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving daughter Elena at the age of 93 years. Doña Flora, was born in Naranjito PR, to Julian Oyola and Maria Cruz. Beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was married to Guadalupe Fuentes, a loving and caring man for over 60 years. Doña Flora moved to Boston in 1983. She dedicated her life to her family, to the church and to the service of anyone who needed help. Doña Flora’s contagious smile, gratefulness and faith were the foundation of who she was. Her devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary and to the rosary were her inspiration to establish “La Legion De Maria” at the Basilica of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Boston. For her, praying was a “must” every day of her life. In Boston, she maintained family traditions by cooking and gathering her family every Sunday afternoon. Her life was an extraordinary example of living the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy by feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and imprisoned, by helping the poor, by comforting the sorrowful, by counseling the doubtful and by praying for the living and the dead. She will be sadly missed by her eleven children: Carmen Reyes, Rafael Fuentes, Miguel Fuentes, Jose Luis Fuentes, Elena Fuentes, Hector Fuentes, Roberto Fuentes, Isolina Fuentes, Yolanda Fuentes, Zaida Fuentes, Javier Fuentes; her 39 grandchildren; her 60 great-grandchildren; her 19 great-great-grandchildren; her daughters in-laws, sons in-laws and family friends. Visiting hours at The Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Sunday December 9 from 5-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Mission Church 1545 Tremont St. Roxbury on Monday December 10 at 10 am.
