Joseph T. Lombari, 74, of Winsor Avenue, Johnston, returned to his eternal heavenly home on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Morgan Health Center in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Tammelleo) Lombari – they recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Caruso) Lombari. He had lived in Johnston for 46 years.
Joe’s long career in the architectural woodworking industry began at William Bloom & Sons in East Providence. Soon afterwards Joe co-founded Interiors Unlimited in Johnston where he established himself as a well respected expert in his field. He would go on to have a long and successful career in woodworking as he and Pam raised their two children.
Joe had a heart of gold and was widely known for his caring and compassionate nature - always willing to help anyone in need. Joseph’s favorite pastime was working on his little farm, where among various other animals he bred and raised beagles for competition and show. Joe also bred and raised Boer goats and New Zealand rabbits. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones as well as everyone who knew him professionally and socially.
Joseph was a veteran of the United States National Guard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children Mark Lombari and Christine Antonio of Scituate, Sherri Chippendale and her husband, Michael of Foster, and his cherished grandchildren; Madison Lombari, Paige and Séighín Chippendale. Joseph is the dear brother of Michael (and his late wife Lois) Lombari of Cranston and James (and Alyce) Lombari of Johnston.
His family wishes to thank the second floor staff, CNAs, and nurses - especially Mark Alverez and Elizabeth Gauthier at Morgan Health Center who cared for Joseph with great compassion during his time there.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 9:30am, December 8th in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visiting hours respectfully omitted, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
