It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia A. DeVoe announce her passing after a short illness. A lifelong resident of South Boston, Patsy passed surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Graduate of South Boston High School class of 1969. Formerly employed with the Boston Public Schools at the Perry School for over 30 years.
Beloved wife of 42 years of Richard P. De Voe, Sr., retired detective with the Boston Police Department. Devoted mother of Richard P. De Voe, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of South Boston, Suzanne DeVoe and her partner Victor Valles of Dorchester. Loving stepmother of Kristie Norwood and her husband Lance Sr. of Hyde Park. Loving Gramma of Sophie Rae and Eloise Valles, Liam Charles DeVoe, Lance Jr. and Michael Norwood. Predeceased by her brothers David and William Evans. Survived by her mother Edna R. (Kane) Evans, her brother John F. Evans and his wife Jennifer (Zablocki) and her sister Mary Evans. Loving aunt and godmother to many including Carrieanne, Allison, Katelyn, and Charlene Evans, Cheryl DeVoe Roche and Monique DeVoe. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Good friend to Patricia Broderick, Nick Filzo and Barbara Albright and her traveling buddies Joseph and Diane Zinck.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, December 6 from 4-8PM at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10am at St. Brigid Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend all services and to join the family. Donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in Patricia’s memory.
