WORCESTER___Miss Emily Cecelia Gudzevich, 97, of Worcester died on Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Christopher House. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emily Ona (Petrulaitis) Gudzevich. Emily was born in Worcester on April 4, 1921. Emily leaves several cousins in the United States and Lithuania and many friends.
Miss Gudzevich graduated from the High School of Commerce and studied art at the Worcester Art Museum School of Art and at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston where she majored in Fashion Illustration. She created art work for newspaper advertisements for several stores in Worcester and Boston. Several of the drawings are in the Worcester Historical Museum. Emily also created engineering drawings for several Worcester companies including engineering drawings of Astronaut spacesuits and helmets for the NASA shuttle project. Miss Gudzevich was a third degree member of Council 26, Knights of Lithuania and was a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society, Maironis Park. Emily was a parishioner of the former St. Casimir Church.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 with a service at 11:00 A.M. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
